Introduction:
Salve, quid agis hodie? For anyone who does not take Latin (doom on you) I just said Hello, How are you? If you said well then YAY if you did not then you should feel good. It is good for your health, feeling bad deteriorates your immune system. When you do start feeling sickly, try ketchup. In the 1930's it was sold as a medicine. I do not know if it works but hey, trying it will not hurt much. By the way I would recommened you try out www.freerice.com because it's fun and helps the world at the same time.

I happen to love writing more then breathing but I might not have much on here because I write novels mostly, not many poems or short stories. Whenever I have something, however. I will post it. Most of my work is also science fiction and fantasy. By the way, my sign-name is Irish Gaelic. Moira means Star of the Sea and Malise means the Servant of God.

I have no idea what else to put on this profile so, when I think of something, I will add it. Until then, vale! (Good bye to you people who are not taking Latin.)

The Most Hated Lamb
As the midnight hour-strike rings in the night,
Clouds roll through the darkened, threatening sky.
No ordinary clouds are these ones though;
they rumble and growl each with their own voices,
with each cry dark, pained, and angry.

I walk the lonely streets of a new Rome
And it’s the year of our Lord 2008,
Marveling at how the sky matches my inner turmoil.
I try to understand what the weight of that cross
Must have been with our sins piled atop its rough surface.

I stand alone in the midst of this long night,
staring at the sky as it rains down upon me.
The only rain that doesn't sting but
Washes the tears from my weary face.
I hear a voice whisper under the thunder, "I know what its like."

My smile, which at first held no joy, is now
the light of my Lord's life. I will bear my pain
to further his glory and in return get his
Hand to lift my broken form from this
Earth to stand in his arms and cry my first tears of joy.

My legacy is to bear this life for my savior.
Every slap and cruel word, every single thorn and splinter
from the crown and the cross society hands me.
Though I am treated as a criminal, spat on and beaten,
my soul flies free on the wings of eagles he gives me.

As I look down the street I know. My road will be tough.
I hold no fear for the future though. I will make it through.
To the arms of my savior, my comforter, my teacher,
my life, my light, and my truth. Who died for me and bore
Pain that I could never imagine. My life would be easy to him.

Even my darkest and hardest hours he brightens for me and
No matter how the world hates me he accepts me as I am.
He has named me as his own. From outcast to beloved child,
the lone wolf to the purest lamb, and he has claimed me as his daughter.
The jewel of his crown in heaven where he waits for me.

The most hated lamb on Earth. Now the soul of heaven's light.

A Deadly Warm Touch
I stand staring blankly at the wall.
It’s a normal sort of wall, a pale, dirty color.
It’s a normal sort of day, cold and dead.
Almost like that wall. No emotion.
Just existing.
Everything around me is a possibility.
The window has a pleasantly long drop.
Those stairs have a sharp turn close to the base.
Wouldn’t hurt for very long but might not work.
That pencil is sharp and just long enough.
All I have to do is go on a ride with Mom.
Open the door and take off my seatbelt.
Little pain and it’s done quickly.
Death comes up to stand behind me.
His deadly warm touch on my arm.
He whispers these ideas to my mind.
Already saturated from earlier visits.
He wraps his arms around me slowly.
I stand perfectly still as he does.
I still stare at the normal, pale wall.
A soft darkness settles on my mind.
Warm and welcoming.
All I have to do is take one little step.
He leaves with that reminder.
He’s always there for me.
My dearest friend Death.
He’s such a nice person.
I stand quietly and numbly.
It’s a normal sort of wall, a pale, dirty color.
It’s a normal sort of day, cold and dead.
Almost like that wall. No emotion.
Just existing. Here I am.

Escape
I bet you wanna know…
How I escape from this world.
How I hold onto my sanity.
I bet you wanna know…
So I’ll tell you.

This is my escape,
My sweet oblivion.
You people choose drugs,
I choose my music…
And forgetfulness…

Amplify the base!
Turn the volume high as it goes!
Let your head roll back,
And your eyes slide closed…
Here sensation reigns supreme.

Enters your tired mind,
Destroys conscious thought,
Resonates in the empty space left.
Lifts you up on every wavelength,
Sinks you down into the heavy beat.

Slide, slide; down, farther down…
Venture into the unknown abyss,
Where all that exists is rhythm.
It erases everything else from your world.
The strongest changing force.

Lose yourself! No inhibitions!
Let it take you over, alter you.
Release the bonds of your perceptions.
Relax. Just let it flow right through your body.
The change it brings is the best thing for you.

Slowly enter, become the music.
Your heart matches, becomes the beat and
Echoes through your ruined body and mind.
Become the music. The ultimate release.
No world, no worries… Just the beat…

Your existence is finite but the
Music will always go on.
Live in the music, the final frontier.
It will bear you away on sound waves to
A pure, dark, pulsating bliss of sensation only.

You want to know how I escape?
There you go my friend.
I dare you. Dare you to try for it yourself.
Put down those other things, drugs, and drinks.
Try for the ultimate experience.

Find a corner in a dark, quiet room.
Sit, get comfortable, lean your head
Against the wall. Brace yourself.
Place the headphones to your ears.
Blast the volume, up the amp. Fly free.

Improvisation one: Harbour Town
A small child was riding her violet bicycle as a wind off of the harbour danced teasingly with a nearby forest of pines. She passed the glowing beach on her way to her Grandma's house with some warm Pumpernickel bread tucked safely into a basket on the front of her bicycle. She heard distant, slightly off-tone church bells and saw a cat watching a group of giggling women gather clams. Up in the sky an eagle cried proudly as it circled the first star of the evening and, across the water, a ship flew speedily by as if it had fire in its sails. She smiled happily and out-raced a slow-moving, gentle cart horse to beat the coming night to her Grandma's house. Her joyful laughing rang out clear and sharp to accompany the softly toning church bells in their music making for the dancing wind and trees.

Improvisation three: Mud fight! A brief recount
A bright giggle dims the shining of the midmorning sun. What could it be? Of course! A small, brilliantly blond child in what once must have been her favorite purple sweatpants and a clean white shirt. She giggles again and splashes in the playground she's found. A large, sticky, gooey, fun mess of a mud puddle that now stands under her gate after a recent, fresh rain! Oh what fun she's having with her little shovel, now having covered herself in brown, sloppy dirt-water! She splashes to her hearts content without a care in the world. Oh! What's this? An intruder in her domain… She raises her little yellow plastic shovel as she watches her father walk past. SPLAT! A direct hit! Dirt-water splashes over her father's shirt! She laughs delightedly and her father joins in.

Improvisation four: Gentle Dreamer

In a dream a girl most gentle,
With velvet skin a shade of rose,
And hair of golden silk and satin,
In cotton clothes that fit just so,
Flees the world she sleeps in.

She rests in patchwork fields,
And sings along with joyful birds.
Dancing and dashing,
Climbing and flying.
She glides through her dream,
Watching over a world that she's
No longer bound to.

Improvisation six: Iambic Pentameter Animal Poem
Stepping lightly across the forest floor
Alert for signs of an unwanted guest
Moving slowly, gold eyes watching the trees
Shy and mistrusting of other people

Patiently hiding amongst the forest
Scarlet palmed hunters cannot find me here
None the wiser they quickly pass me by
Lying silently not three feet from them

Standing and stepping out onto the path
Proudly and gracefully on my way home
My soft red-grey fur spiking warily
Winding my way through the darkness with ease

Home at last those I trust come to greet me
My lupine friends and I, one entity

Eyes Fill with Tears
Her eyes fill with tears lit by fading light.
Hazel eyes now made frail by pain and fear,
As she lies amid her darkening night.

The alley shows signs of her recent fight.
Her body broken. Her spirit shattered.
Her eyes fill with tears lit by fading light.

Her dark brown hair tousled, a sorry sight,
Clothes torn and dirty, she sobs in a breath,
As she lies amid her darkening night.

She wonders how a man could hold such spite;
Thoughts wandering through her dim memories.
Her eyes fill with tears lit by fading light.

She wonders how she'll live after her plight,
Now surrounded by flashing lights, dark forms,
As she lies amid her darkening light.

Carefully men lift her toward the bright lights,
Distant voices tell her she'll be okay.
Her eyes fill with tears lit by fading light,
As she lies amid her darkening night.

Too Many Mistakes

I know that I’ve made too many mistakes,
To return to the life I once had with you.
I can’t regret all of the decisions I make.
Please forgive me, my regret overdue.

Remember all we went through together?
The toil and pain, the tears and sweat shed
Undivided by the odds, their pressures,
Fighting those who said we should never be?

I know too many times I’ve played you false,
Saying one thing and meaning another.
I kept secrets, acting too often on impulse.
I never meant to hurt you, I was a fool.

You deserve so much more than I gave,
Please give me a chance, I will do better.
To once more see your eyes shine with joy,
Forgive me please; free me from Guilt’s fetters.

No one can ever take your place in my heart,
All I am is yours, please don’t tear me apart.

Synopsis:
Bella Waters is a poor journalist with a lot of talent, both in her writing and in
getting into trouble. Her best friend Kiom is her guide and defender of a sort, struggling to keep the enthusiastic writer out of harm’s way and in the boundaries of the law while trying to teach her French at the same time. Kiom has also occasionally been her lover but, since his recent marriage, Bella has been avoiding him to make sure they keep their hands off of each other.
One day at work, after already having a miserable morning, her boss gives her the ‘assignment of a lifetime’; only it seems to be a bad omen. When Kiom hears of her new task he storms out in a hurt rage that she doesn’t understand. Just a few days later a stranger turns up at her door saying that he’s there to help her on her project. She doesn’t know who to trust; Kiom, who is behaving abnormally, or the stranger whom she has never met before who intrigues her with his mystery but angers her with his lies.
What none of the three expects is to be forced into an unwilling alliance filled with short tempers and misunderstandings as things go horribly wrong. A force they have never heard of before has been unleashed in connection with Bella’s story and that creature is now after Bella. After it catches her its next goal is the world. The three are the only ones who can confine the ancient evil again, that is, if they can overcome their new differences and cooperate as everything around them unravels and falls apart in Chaos’ arms.

When Will You Learn
By: Raechel Rickard

Act 1 Scene 4:

[Open in Bella’s living room. Bella is sitting on her now broken couch with Kiom’s wife Arabella as Kiom and Cane pace on opposite sides of the room. Arabella sits stitching as Bella watches the mild arguments. Kiom, normally the calm one, seems enraged and overwhelmed whereas Cane is mildly irritated.]

Kiom: This is outrageous! I can’t believe you are putting Bella into such a danger!
Cane: What else can we do? They’ll be after her over this story.
Kiom: It’s your own fault that she was even assigned it!
[Kiom strides angrily over to Cane, his hands wrapping in the collar of Cane’s ripped shirt and shaking him roughly.]
Cane: Hands off! I won’t take your attitude punk.

Bella: Are men always like this Ara?
Arabella: [smiles] Usually only when their stressed. You know Kiom well enough for that answer little one.
Bella: [stands and calmly steps over to the two men, insinuating her arms between them as an indicator to separate.] Gentlemen, please.
Kiom: Cher…
Bella: No Kiom. Fighting won’t get anything done. Come on.

[Bella walks back to the couch and sits down again as the men separate reluctantly.]

Bella: [chuckles] Testosterone in here is getting a bit too high. I hope your kid’s a little girl Ara.
Arabella: It may help us, I don’t know. [smiles]
Bella: Grab some chairs guys. Sit with us and talk for once.

[Kiom and cane take two chairs from the dining room and sit in front of the women. Kiom starts to speak.]

Cane: How much can we tell her? She’s uninitiated Kiom.
Kiom: Would you rather kill her or break a few rules? We can initiate her later. I’ll be more than happy to.
Cane: Fine, fine. You’re obviously used to having everything your way. [leans back in his chair]
Kiom: Thank you. Now stop interrupting me. [Turns to look Bella in the eye seriously.] Bella, we don't have time to explain everything right now cher but I'll tell you a bit before we get you to a safe-house.
Bella: A safe-house? What for?
Cane: Just listen. We have to hurry. [Goes to the window and glances out nervously.] They'll be ready to attack us again soon. We didn't do nearly as much damage as I would have liked.
Kiom: [sighs and rubs his eyes tiredly] You've stumbled into a world humans aren't supposed to know about. Vampires and other immortals as well as the Slayers like Cane. Arabella and I are both vampires, hence my upset when you decided to take on this story. The Slayers believe that you can lead them to an artifact we have guarded for millennia that, supposedly, can kill us all. The idea of turning it into a story like this is, even if you can't lead them or are killed first, we are still revealed to the world. People these days would go insane; there would be no place for us to hide anymore. As it is we're hiding in plain sight right now.
Bella: I… I didn't know. [pale and confused looking.]
Kiom: [takes her hand gently] We know you didn't cher. We aren't angry and we'll keep you safe from our councils and the Slayers until we can sort everything out.
Cane: I'm just the puppy that gets to tag along. [bitter tone]
Kiom: You shouldn't have let me get close enough to bite you. Forgive me the B-movie line but: You're mine now.
Arabella: Stop it you two. Bella's tired enough without having to break you two up constantly. I'm used to your bickering but she isn't.
Kiom: Fine. I'll leave him be for now.
Cane: Company's back! Let's scram!
[The small group sneaks out of Bella's ruined back door to a waiting car and drive away.]
